Lithuania's Ministry of the Interior is nominating Rustamas Liubajevas, head of the ministry's Public Security Policy Group, to lead the country's State Border Guard Service, with the government expected to decide on his appointment next Wednesday.

Lithuanian border guards' helicopter Eurocopter 135 is leaving for an international mission in the Mediterranean Sea on Monday, the State Border Guard Service said.
