The Ministry of Finance has presented the planned tax amendments to the coalition government. Proposals include a tax on sugary drinks, non-life insurance contracts, expanded real estate taxation and more progressive income taxes.

Lithuania expects its economy to expand by 1.7% next year, following a soft landing in 2023, according to the latest update on the Finance Ministry’s Economic Development Scenario. The same growth was projected by the ministry in September.

Fitch Ratings has affirmed Lithuania's long-term foreign-currency issuer default rating (IDR) at "A-" with a positive outlook after positively assessing Lithuania's public finance and economic situation.
