The Lithuanian Air Force's two Mi-8T helicopters that were at the center of a scandal over plans to repair them in Russia have been repaired and are back in service, the military said on Thursday.

The Lithuanian State Border Guard Service's move to terminate a contract with Helisota helicopter and aircraft repairs company, which is indirectly owned by businessman Gediminas Žiemelis, was legitimate, as the contract threatened Lithuania's national security, the Court of Appeals ruled.
Lithuanian Defence Minister Raimundas Karoblis has extended until February 8 a probe into plans to send two military helicopters for repairs in Russia.
