Most observers reckon that, after the Seimas elections, the nucleus of the ruling coalition will be made up of Social Democrats and Liberals, with Ramūnas Karbauskas’s Peasant and Green party and other independent parties contributing to the coalition as well.
The Liberals' Movement has proposed selling at least 5 percent of the major state-owned energy companies' shares.
On Tuesday two new members of parliament were sworn in at the Seimas. Members of Parliament Arminas Lydeka and Stasys Brundza took their oaths. The oaths were administered by Acting Chairman of the Constitutional Court Dainius Žalimas.
