Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda awarded 34 Lithuanian and foreign nationals for their merits to Lithuania on Sunday when Lithuania marked its Independence Day.

Lithuania's outgoing President Dalia Grybauskaite on Saturday presented state awards to Prosecutor General Evaldas Pasilis and Zydrunas Bartkus, head of the Special Investigation Service, the winners of the Vienna Biennale's Golden Lion, as well as other public figures and foreign officials.
President Dalia Grybauskaitė awarded the Medal of the Order for Merits to Lithuania to opera soloist Edgaras Montvidas.
