"Although we are observing some slowdown in the growth of infections, the situation is really difficult. Therefore, we propose to extend the lockdown until midnight December 17," Health Minister Aurelijus Veryga said while presenting the draft resolution.
Starting from December 10, museum and gallery visits for groups of up to two people or members of one family will be allowed if a space of 10 square meters per visitor or a distance of at least 2 meters between people or groups can be ensured.
Groups of up to two people or members of one family will be allowed to take part in excursions as long as other coronavirus safety requirements are met.
The government may revise its decision to ease the restrictions on museum and gallery visits and excursions if the situation does not improve by December 10, Veryga noted.
The Cabinet also clarified the criteria for providing assistance to businesses affected by the coronavirus pandemic and lockdown restrictions.
Veryga said earlier that the government might consider restricting shops' opening hours and order all education establishments to shift to remote learning if the situation remained unchanged or worsened. The Cabinet did not discuss these proposals on Wednesday, however.
