Lithuania's government has on Monday decided to tighten the existing lockdown as of Wednesday and extend it until the end of the year. People are advised to leave their homes only for serious reasons, and education of elder schoolchildren will take place only remotely.

Lithuania's outgoing government on Wednesday extended the nationwide lockdown, in place since November 7, until December 17, but allowed people to visit museums and galleries and take part in excursions in small groups as of November 10.

Lithuania's outgoing Cabinet is set on Wednesday to specify the lockdown conditions and bring in more clarity regarding restrictions for sports clubs, pools and bathhouses. It also plans to decide on the lockdown extension next week.
