"Unless the trend changes, Spain will on Friday be added to the list of countries arrivals from which are subject to a 14-day mandatory isolation period," it said.
Currently, countries with over 25 new cases per 100,000 people over the past 14 days are included in the list which is updated every Friday.
According to the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control, the rate of COVID-19 infections in Spain had risen sharply recent days to reach 29.1 on July 22.
Sixty-four countries are currently on the list, including Belarus, Bulgaria, Israel, the United States, the United Arab Emirates, Montenegro, Croatia, the Seychelles, Sweden and others.
