Day of Restoration of the State

Vilnius Town Hall will be lit in the colors of Canada's flag on the occasion of Canada Day, the Vilnius authorities announced.

Lithuania celebrated the Day of Restoration of the State on Tuesday, commemorating the 98th anniversary since the nation declared independence from the Russian Empire on February 16, 1918.

Lithuania's President Dalia Grybauskaitė congratulated the people of the country on the Day of Restoration of the State, urging them to be ready to defend their country.
