Fondas (pranc. fond < lot. fundus – pagrindas, pamatas) gali turėti keletą reikšmių:

  • Paramos fondas;
  • Investicinis fondas;
  • Ištekliai, sankaupos, atsargos;
  • Valstybinė ar visuomeninė organizacija, padedanti tam tikros srities asmenims (pvz., kūrybiniams darbuotojams) tobulinti savo kvalifikaciją, remianti juos materialiai;
  • spec. paskirties lėšos, surinktos savo noru, visuomeniniais pagrindais;
  • tarptautinė organizacija ar įstaiga, turinti spec. paskirties lėšų;
  • tarptautinis arba nacionalinis asignavimas arba privačių asmenų paliktos kapitalo investicijos, iš kurių teikiama pagalba mokykloms, finansuojami moksl. tyrimai, kultūriniai renginiai, premijuojama už mokslo ir meno laimėjimus;
  • archyve saugojamas dokumentų rinkinys.
