Milda Vainiutė, a law professor at the Mykolas Romeris University who has been proposed for the post of justice minister in Lithuania's new coalition government, says that she will seek a consensus in the society on the issue of legalization of homosexual partnerships.

If ordinary members of Lithuania's next parliament back the ideas of their leaders, the country may adopt a historic decision to legalize homosexual relations within the next four years.
