Seimas ombudsperson

More than half of Lithuanians know where to turn in case their rights are violated, a recent survey has revealed.

The Lithuanian parliament's ombudsman has urged various institutions to check the Refugee Reception Centre in Rukla for possible violations of food safety, public health and fire safety regulations.

The Seimas Ombudsman Raimondas Šukys addressed the Ministry of Culture with a recommendation to draft a sample regulation, which would assure that the right of journalists to get information is properly implemented by governmental and municipal institutions.
