The compulsory mathematics exam is introduced to enhance logical and mathematical skills of the society and to increase the number of people who have knowledge in exact sciences, says Lithuania's Minister of Education and Science Dainius Pavalkis.
Lithuania's Education and Science Minister Dainius Pavalkis has signed a decree on making the math exam compulsory as of 2016 for secondary school graduates in Lithuania who wish to study in state-funded spots at the country's public colleges and universities.
Mai Nguyen Ngoc, whose family is of Vietnamese origin, has passed the Lithuanian state language exam excellently and got 100 percent, the highest mark, in Chemistry, Mathematics and English.
