Intermedix, a US-owned healthcare IT company that has a service center in Kaunas, is revising its strategy and scaling down operations in Lithuania. The company says it is weighing its business needs and risks and does not rule out exiting Lithuania.

A sponsorship agreement worth more than 100,000 euros has been signed by Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) and UAB Intermedix Lietuva, the Lithuanian branch of Intermedix, a US company that provides IT solutions for the US healthcare market.
Lithuanian Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius attended the opening ceremony of the international Intermedix service centre in Kaunas and congratulated the US company for choosing Lithuania for its expansion in Europe.
In the first half of 2014 Invest Lithuania attracted 13 new investment projects to Lithuania. These new investors have already committed themselves to creating 1,423 new jobs, double the figure for the same period in 2013.
