As of Saturday, residents of Lithuania have exchanged about 40 million litas (EUR 11.6m) in post offices of Lithuania, said Inga Dundulienė, the head of the Network Service of Lietuvos Paštas (Lithuanian Post).

Residents of Lithuania have started exchanging their savings in litas to euros. A total of 330 post offices will be exchanging litas to euros free of charge from 2 January.
Lithuania Post has received a respectable award, Service of the Year, established by Lithuanian Business Confederation, for its self-service parcel terminals LP EXPRESS 24, Lithuania Post said in a press release.
As data for the 3rd quarter of the current year show, 51 percent of incoming international items originate from China. All in all, Lithuania Post has received and dispatched 12 million items during the period.
In the course of six months of the current year, loose and aggressive dogs have attacked more postmen than during the entire previous year. In all, dogs have attacked and injured seven employees of Lithuania Post this year. To compare, five such cases were reported last year, Lithuania Post informs.
On Saturday, to commemorate the inauguration of President Dalia Grybauskaitė, Vilnius Central Post Office will hold a special cancellation. A special cover (envelope) designed exclusively for this occasion will be released on the same day, Lithuania Post informs.
