Polish Electoral Action

Both nations – the Lithuanians and the Polish – both recall well how our mutual conflict in between the two World Wars became a noose on both our necks. Then third parties put in great efforts in “helping” the conflict not reach resolution, but even the conflict itself was complex and difficult.

The Liberal Movement has refused to form a fraction coalition in Seimas with the Homeland Union – Lithuanian Christian Democrats (TS-LKD). This was confirmed to Delfi by Liberal Movement fraction prefect Eugenijus Gentvilas.

The first round of Seimas elections in the single-mandate electoral districts only elected three members of Seimas. The remaining 68 districts will be voting on October 23 in a second round. It will feature the two candidates with the highest vote count in each district.

The new Labour Code passed by the Seimas has not been well received by voters.
